Graduate, so what ?

Graduate, So what ?

Lately when i watch the news all i hear are job opportunities that will be created by all these political parties

here's the thing i grew up without both parents, lost them when i was 5. I knew that the only way out of poverty and struggle was to study and make something out of life.

Lot of people have a perception that orphans never make it in life they are nothing but trouble so i had a point to prove aswell that i can be anything i want to be.

After completing matric all i wanted was to go to varsity and i did , im a graduate now.

We hear everyday that the youth must be educated to better their lives and improve the economy of the country, but tell me this how many graduates are unemployed in South Africa.

I always make sure that i apply for a job each and everyday but nothing comes up, most companies dont even bother to respond which makes it more depressing because you do not know if they received your application, or they didnt or  they simply ignored  it , and those that respond they do not have anything available or they looking for someone experienced. "I ask myself where the hell will i get experience if im not employed"

Anyway my point is right now i dont see the point of being educated because these so called door openers "qualification" aint opening any doors for me its like i wasted my time. Now the only way to get a job is to have someone by your corner who is well connected, Those are the difficulties of being a young newly graduate in South Africa.

The struggle continues

#feesmustfall has been the talk of the nation for more than a week when it was announced that fees will increase in 2016. students from all universities in South Africa decided to take action against the fee increment which I think was a wise decision made by students in history, many students depend on Nsfas and bursaries to pay for their fees I know exactly how it feels  when January comes and Nsfas results come out only to find that your application has not been approved, not knowing if you will go back and study or not, some parents don’t even earn half of their children`s` fees a year so indeed fees had to fall,  It was amazing to see students put their differences aside and protests against the fee increment.
i was there when history was made

Buses and trains were organised for students from different universities who were part of the protest in Union building, students who are members of different parties Sasco, Dasso EFFSO etc and  despite representing different parties the goal was one ‘fees must fall’ the march started at 10 when president Jacob Zuma was suppose to address students but unfortunately he didn’t and that inflamed anger in students that they started burning mobile toilets, pulling out the union building`s` fence and others who were there preferred a peaceful march but as students we come from different backgrounds others believe that if you want to be listened to then violence it is and others don’t  this is where differences invaded.  student leaders argued that those who want no violence should leave but because there were many students if one university had decided to leave it would had to leave with all their students due to the chaos it was not possible so no one left  police used teargas, grenades and rubber bullets to mobilise the situation but those who believed in violence were not intimidated they started making petrol bombs and throwing stones while police were shooting they were screaming “We want more” it was scary and fun at the same time.

What was more interesting is that it was not just black students but there were also white, Indian and students from other countries were supporting South African students, this was no 1976 we were all united it somehow showed how we have transformed as a country back in the days it was only blacks however we still demand radical transformation, demands for decolonized society and decolonized institutions should be met.

When students were finally addressed they were told that 0% fee increment had been granted that was the immediate goal achieved but the long term goal had not been met students want free education. The 0% has been granted for 2016 what about the year after that. Does it mean we will have to protest again the coming years? these are some of the questions students are asking themselves, what made students more angry is that they were not addressed directly by the president as promised and police dispersed everyone away from the Union building with rubber bullets however the 0% did not really mean anything the struggle continues until the government decides on free education,

This day was prove of how powerful the youth can be if united, anything is possible including free education and it should be a lesson to others that unity and solidarity is a powerful weapon.

Lucky you the ATM pays you

hi guys i know its been a while since i blogged about anything i hope you didn't miss me too much lol, anyway today i couldn't  resist writing after what happened to a friend of mine yesterday I'm actually pissed right now but not at you guys to the scum bags who almost killed a friend of mine just because they are lazy to make their own money.

Okay this is what happened, I have a friend from Cameroon he`s such a nice guy and a hard worker , yesterday he went to an ATM to withdraw money so when he inserted his card the machine didn't give him any option to take his money so he assumed that maybe it doesn't have money 2 minutes later he got an sms saying R3400 has been withdrawn from his account when he looked back he saw some guy changing many cards on the same ATM and taking money, so a man he is he went to a guy and told him that he saw him taking his money but the guy denied it so my friend told him that hes taking him to a police station because its actually not far from where they were, so the guy said fine lets go i have nothing to hide, so my friend grabbed him by his wrist as they were walking the guy pulled his hand and punched my friend and he ran away, he ran after him and when he turned by the corner where the tsotsi guy turned about 10 guys jumped on him and started beating him up ,

mind you it was  10.00 am in the morning and people were just watching him scream there no one bothered to even go to a police station which is like a minute away he almost died there luckily two guys from Cameroon who knew him saved him and took him to a hospital , he has a swollen lip, his right eye is swollen he cant see properly and bruises all over his body but thank god hes okay.

What makes me more mad is that some of us wake up everyday in a cold weather and work hard for our money , and others just wait in the ATM just to withdraw that's bull shit get a life do something for yourself and stop being a parasite, you will never be rich with that ,easy come easy go one day all the shit that you do will catch up with you.
i also plead with everyone out there let us help one another you helping does not mean you should go and attack but get help for that person let us not give these scum bags power over us because life is unpredictable you never know what might happen to you tomorrow and i hope these tips will be helpfull on how to deal or avoid ATM robbery.

I promise ill try to blog more often ciao

Do`s and Don`ts of social media

                                               FOOT PRINT PROFILE

Don’t you like it when you go out with your friends and check in to that famous club and capture every moment in a club , trust me I know  it is fun we students after all we enjoy those kind of things but if you are a PR student or pursuing a career in the PR industry it all has to come to an end dear.
Social media is more like a foot print once you step on it your print will be there forever, we need to start acting as professionals early in our careers well I don’t mean you have to be all serious but posting and tweeting  pictures of yourself drinking is inappropriate , you going to be in a corporate world and trust me no one in the corporate world wants to be associated with someone who posts those kind of pictures or who check in clubs every weekend, have fun but do not ruin your reputation bare in mind that social media is public .

We all have those lectures who annoy us sometimes but do not tweet or write anything on your social media that degrades them you actually degrading yourself if you do that now it means you will do the same thing with your boss which will get you fired. back in high school I used to like it when I got invites because it increased my friends list even from strangers but now I only accept those that I know and those who have a professional profile so always remember that quality is more important than quantity , don’t say something you wouldn’t say face to face, makes sure that your profile reflect your career focus   because you will never know how you might land your dream job .

Interact with people but don’t comment on every tweet or post you come across,  update your status regularly with relevant information as this will show your enthusiasm and understanding of the media world.
I hope u will find these do`s and don'ts help full don't forget to voice out your point of views about this topic.

Rules of Public Relations

                                                          Rules of Public Relations

PR  was not my ideal career I never saw myself in such a demanding job doing public speaking, organizing events, writing news releases and internal publication, being updated about everything that is happening worldwide by watching the news everyday it sounded so boring, I am sure you wondering then why the hell am I studying PR, well attending a career expo changed my mind, after that day I couldn’t  stop imagining myself branding one of the big organizations in SA, building and maintaining the image of companies and being Obamas spoke person J I am very ambitious but don’t worry you will understand me as time goes on anyway as I was saying I did my research and then I realized that PUBLIC RELATIONS is actually where I want to but hey trust me studying PR full time, falling in love with it and understanding the PR world is hard work.

 Guidelines

There are rules or should I say principles that u need to follow to guide you in good path of  your career firstly you need to be sure that PR is your passion it is something that you love, don’t have that mentality that you just doing it for money surely you don’t want end up being unhappy in a job in a way that you are always grumpy In the morning you always have to drag yourself to work every day, that would be horrible so please guys make sure you in a right place before is too late.

Lot of people don’t understand what PR is I remember when I was volunteering in the M2B event one guy who was a guest there asked me what I was studying and 'I said PR' he was like 'you just wasting money', what I am trying to say is that you will get discouraged by people who don’t know how important PR is but don’t allow them to make you doubt yourself.

Start now to interact with people because you might be good at what you do but if you cannot market yourself no one will know you I myself am a quite person but once I am with people I come out of my shell I interact and engage in conversations

Make sure that at least you know people in the media industry u will definitely need those contacts in future its always better to start early and the least but not last follow bloggers, PR influencers and always read PRISA`s online publication, familiarize yourself with social media platforms. media platforms
